Box jumps have this weird, mysterious hold over many of us, so much so that they can ruin an entire workout. How do you get past the fear of a bigger box? Do you stack weights on top of a smaller box? Do you lie to yourself about the actual height? I personally don’t like to look at the box while I jump. For example, during this past Tuesday’s workout of Deadlifts and Box Jumps, I never looked at the box while jumping. Now this isn’t a technique that I would encourage you to just try without practice, but this coming Tuesday when we perform them in our skill/strength session, you may fiddle around with it using a smaller box.
Trupti doesn’t trust me just yet to not look at the box but still gets the job done with ease.

I love box jumps curiously enough. However, I do need to stack plates on top of a snaller box to get over the fear. Mentally they have a pretty good grip on me.
I cant even walk down a flight of stairs without looking at each step. I dont know how I could handle NOT looking at the box! I dont trust that evil box.
Don’t let the box be bigger than you. I have made peace with the box and am back in control, where I should be.
What if the box moves? If I am not looking at it, I will not know where to land. Right??
