This week started off nice and “easy” with two 3 minute AMRAPs, then a little Bear Complex mid-way and finished today with Fight Gone Bad. We dropped hints and/or outright told you about when these workouts were going to happen. How does knowing the workout in advance change how you approach the gym? Do you avoid it all together, or do you get an extra hour of sleep knowing that you will need some rest for the coming WOD?

FIGHT GONE BAD
Push Press (M:75# / W:55#)
Row (Calories)
Wall Ball (M:20# / W:14#)
SDHP (M:75# / W:55#)
Box Jump (20in)
In this workout you move from each of five stations after a minute. The clock does not reset or stop between exercises. This is a five-minute round from which a one-minute break is allowed before repeating. On the call of rotate, the athletes must move to next station immediately for best score. One point is given for each rep, except on the rower where each calorie is one point.

29 rep PR today. Thanks Lee and Coach Dan for pushing me through it. Loving this WLC!
It totally helped knowing that FGB was coming today. I slept and mentally prepared. I did 31 above my PR. I was totally in the zone when I showed up today.
I like knowing ahead of time!
I really like knowing ahead of time what the WOD will be. I would NEVER (and I’m being serious) NOT go to the gym that day because of a difficult workout. I like knowing ahead of time because I can prepare mentally for it if it’s a tough one, and know I may have to do extra stretching…or whatever.
i definitely prefer not knowing.. theres so much to think about all day long.. when i get to the gym, i like to get out of my head and just (try to) move..
it took me 6 minutes and all of my fingers and toes to add up becky’s fgb score. once you get out of your head i guess its hard to get back in?
I like knowing the special WODs (Murph, FGB) ahead of time so I can mentally prepare, but otherwise, I prefer not knowing.
The fact that its different every day and I never know what to expect is what makes Crossfit different, challenging, and fun.
I know I said I wouldn’t have gone had I remembered Friday was FGB but I sure am glad I did. It was a pretty bad ass workout.
I think I like knowing when we have those types of workouts, like Maureen stated above. But I enjoy the not knowing of what type of torture, ahem, i mean workout, y’all have put together every other day.
I LOVE knowing…I like mentally preparing. I blow it off when too easily all these days that I don’t know….out of fear???
I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t know what to expect every day before I come to workout, but if I had the choice I’d rather not know. I find that if I think about the WOD once before coming in for my workout I will spend the rest of the day wallowing in thought over how the WOD may/may not go. I would prefer to just show up and do whatever is planned for the day, knowing that I will be done in less than an hour, and then go on with my life.
I love knowing that the workout is well planned, thought out, has purpose not only on that single day but also in the big picture of our training and will provide a very specific response to our athletes.
Being that I know the workouts ahead of time, one would I assume that I should be able to ‘get’ exactly what we have intended out of the workout, an un-fair advantage some would say right? Because fortune favors the prepared mind… But when in life is anything this planned, prepared and laid out for you? We train to kick life’s ass and life isn’t going to tell you ahead of time something big is headed your way.
