I love dropping in on classes and making my presence felt. Yelling at everybody to get lower, go faster, lock out your arms, get back in your heels, pull your chest up, back tight…etc… It’s always good to have a fresh pair of eyes check your movements out. I know I picked an especially difficult workout to drop in on, as overhead squats are quite the ‘goat’ of many of our athletes but that doesn’t mean any of our standards of rangoe of motion have changed. The good news is that I saw some great scaling decisions throughout the day but there were a few that made me wonder what was going on in their head during the workout.
My reminder for the day for everybody is; Using a PVC pipe with full range of motion is a million times better than a 45# bar and half ass range of motion. Be deliberate with your movements and make each one count. Don’t get mad at the coaches that get on you about range of motion, listen to them and heed their advice. I encourage you to stop (yes I said STOP) or slow down so that you can hear their cues and put into practice what they are instructing you to do. If you didn’t hear them or don’t understand, stop and ask them to explain it. A minute slower workout is much better than a week of back pain and no progress.

This workout seems great! I was debating between Fri & Sat- I hope I don’t regret missing out on this one.
I pulled out TWO PRs, a positive…and a negative.
Nice Michele! Did you get your row under 2min?!?!?!
It was ugly, but a 6 second PR on the row – 1:36.7! That hurt! OMR
15 second personal records. 1:46
Nice job to all of you!;)
I pulled out a big PR on the row…
However, the WOD destroyed me for going all out on the row.
PR row, but it helped that it was not after FRAN like the other times we rowed
