If we only had more time!

The 5am class got the shaft today, due the enormous amount of set up / prep work required to tackle this beast of a workout and the 6am class rolling through in mass. The 5am group was not given the necessary time needed to complete the WOD, but I know all of them would of finished had the time been available to them. The last thing I ever want to have is a DNF (unless its because of excessive puking because thats just freaking funny). That is why we’re simply going to look at this as a workout with a time cutoff. For those with ‘?’ by their names please post in the comments what ‘day’ you made it through before getting halted by the clock this morning, and I will update the times as they come in. This was an extremely difficult workout and I’m proud of everybody who fought hard to finish, no class finished within their given 1 hour allotment and all had people who didn’t finish the entire workout due to timing constraints.

David U. demonstrates the RX’d face for this WOD. It too was seen throughout all of the classes.

The Twelve Days of Christmas WOD
1 – Squat Clean and Jerk (155/105)
2 – Deadlift (Body Weight)
3 – HSPU (Clapping Pushups)
4 – OH Squats (95/65)
5 – SDHP (95/65)
6 – Burpees
7 – Pullups (C2B)
8 – Thrusters (95/65)
9 – T2B (K2E)
10 – KB Swings (70/55)
11 – Box Jumps (24/20)
12 – OH Lunges (95/65)
Perform just like the song:

Hey, I got into a picture! I’m the guy standing around doing nothing while the other two guys are working hard. LOL This workout was a monumental challenge even though I didn’t do round 12 because I was worried about dropping the bar on my head… again!

  2. Brian says:

It took me 12 days to finish this workout. Whoever thought this one up is a terrible person.

John – I hope you get lots of coal in your stocking for this one.

    Hurting, Susie

I am too tired and worn out to even comment. How am I going to drive 4hrs with three kids in the morning? i don’t think I will even be able to keep my foot on the gas….Have a great Holiday everyone.

    John:

I enjoyed 11 fun filled days of Christmas before the time cut-off. However, I think I still did enough sweating for the entire 12 days. I think you should really consider a more reasonable 8 nights of Hanukkah approach in the future.

Great workout John. I will be thinking about it for days to come as my arms can’t quite make it over my head yet. I finished 11 day PLUS burpees….I just have to get those burpees in there. I agree that next year we should celebrate Hanukkah.

I missed this yesterday morning, but did it the best I could at the house this morning with only one bar. Scaled a few of the weights, but I think I should get extra credit for all the plate swapping! I am in pain…John, thanks for ruining my Christmas! ;-)

All, if you need some more inspiration, download the 2009 Crossfit Games videos they are releasing on the Crossfit Journal site. All the Men’s events have been released, and the Women’s will be next. Amazing stuff!

Hope everyone at P3 Crossfit has a great holiday season! See you in the new year!

I’ll do this one at my sister’s gym over the break, should be interesting

  9. Brian says:

I think I did this wod as RX’d. It took me long enough, so I figure I earned it.

  10. Susie T. says:

I did the weights as RX’d(awful) but no HSPU and I’m sure my pullups (no band) weren’t chest to bar. Regardless, it took me way too long too! Still hurting from it! Suz

  11. John says:

Sorry Susie, you did do the weights as RX’d but not the entire workout (HSPU). I decided that since there were so many different movements that were modified by everybody that the table would of gone on forever, thus the lack of half credit for those that did their pullups, HSPU but no the entire WOD as RX’d.

  12. Fran says:

I did 50 pounds on everything except OH squats, where I did 35 pounds. I made it to the 12th day. I completed the 12 OH lunges and was abruptly cut off on my 11 box jumps. I have to admit I was kind of grumpy because I didn’t get to finish. Let’s do it again but start at 4:30 a.m.! :)

  13. Fran says:

    Oh – I deadlifted 125 pounds and did HSPUs. That’s it :) .

  14. Susie T says:

John – I completely understand about RX! I don’t know HOW people did HSPU’s and Chest to Bar with all of that. I’m happy I made it through all 12 rounds with the weights as RX but my time was completely pathetic….but at least I burned a bunch of calories that day. I completely agree with the 8 days of Hanukkah for next year!!!

    Happy Holidays!!!! Best, Susie

    Finished 11 days +
